about

Originally written by Randy Rogel and performed by Rob Paulsen as Yakko Warner. Updated for 2014 numbers (eight planets! sob!) with help from Phil Plait, the Bad Astronomer.

lyrics

Note: there is a lyric edit at the end of the song ("You might think that you're essential -- but try inconsequential") that is not in the cartoon or on the album; these lyrics are cited in a number of sources as being in the original script. And I liked them better. "It's a big universe and it's ours" is a sentiment I can't really get behind. At least not in the ownership sense.

Her songs are quirky, sharp, surprising confections in every genre full of rich dark carmelized sugar, savor, & spice. ... more
