Kat S I work retail. We have Pandora. I have heard entirely too many versions of "All of Me". It is one of the songs I have heard so many times, I start to feel slightly murderous when I hear it come on.

But I'll still listen to Marian's version. That is the power of her beautiful voice. Favorite track: Moving Right Along.

ac8gt As a Tom Lehrer fan for at least 50 years (when I found my parent's copy of "an Evening Wasted") I've NEVER heard anyone doing justice to "The Elements". I think I have just found my NEW favorite version.

And to be included on an album with two more of my favorite songs (Moving Right Along and Yakko's Universe),... just wonderful! Thanks! Favorite track: The Elements.

Note: there is a lyric edit at the end of the song ("You might think that you're essential -- but try inconsequential") that is not in the cartoon or on the album; these lyrics are cited in a number of sources as being in the original script. And I liked them better. "It's a big universe and it's ours" is a sentiment I can't really get behind. At least not in the ownership sense.

about

Marian Call Alaska

Marian Call has things to say. She sounds a little like Ingrid Michaelson meets They Might Be Giants & Regina Spektor for bourbon & laughs, which sounds improbable, but give it a try. She hails from Alaska and tours North America and Europe, and she lives on Twitter. Her songs are quirky, sharp, surprising confections in every genre full of rich dark carmelized sugar, savor, & spice. ... more
